Special Education Student - Going into First Grade

I am looking for someone who can be firm but understanding. My child has a learning disability which requires more time to be taken to explain information. She also has a "I can't do this" attitude when presented with something new. She presents an obstinate attitude when she feels she cannot do something. Given the right tutor, she will learn that she can do something. I have been successful in teaching her addition, reading, and her numbers up to 80. It has taken a lot of work, and I feel if I continue to take the "hard as nails" parent role, it may permanently damage our relationship. I need someone to step into this role for me and teach her what she needs for first grade. She tends to get just the basics at school, even though she is medicated for her ADHD.
